Learn about the African/West Indian tradition of Kawandi quilting. During this class we will work on an unique mini quilt, working from the outside in to the middle. GLHQ has arranged for  a custom class where both hand and machine techniques will be taught. Jen will lead you through everything you need to know, from selecting fabrics and tools to finishing your Kawandi style quilt.

Blast through a pile of precious scraps and make a mini or baby quilt in a single afternoon. We will focus on the best parts of Kawandi making – using fabrics in an improvisational manner without piecing, and quilting from the outside in. You can choose to use your machine and skip the slow stitching, or relish the relaxation that comes from slow stitching by hand.
